Message The biggest factor will be the age of the car and it's service history to date. TT's do require more attention for reliability vs. an NA. I have a '90TT (stage III) and I end up spending roughly $1000 a year (on average) just for maintenance items (120K service, tires, brakes, exhaust replacement, etc....).

You have the added factor of having to replace the turbos at some point because they WILL start to leak and/or seize at some point. There are some TT's with extraordinarily high mileage on the original turbos (member Zirvana comes to mind) but that should be considered the rare exception. Along with turbos comes oil lines, and other related parts. Then you have to consider whether to upgrade while you're repalcing the turbos.

I think if you search (suggested keyword: Reliability) you'll find some more info regarding this topic.

Good luck.
